Iron Mike on the Big Screen

The most exciting boxer of all time is making a move to the big screen and has enlisted Jamie Foxx as the man. Hoping that Mr. Foxx can do this film its due justice. I've seen Mike around Los Angeles a few times. He does bear the stigma of a carnivorous animal, but every time I've seen him he has always extended himself to the public. One time I saw him bumrushed for autographs as he was returning to his hotel by a group of 15 people, and he gave autographs to every one of them. Then he was asked if he had time to meet the rest of their family. He went inside to meet the entire family for about 15 minutes or so. An Irish family was having some kind of family reunion or something. Out of the 3 times I've seen him, no paparazzi, no television or news crews were present, and he always seemed to embrace anyone who greeted him. As they say, things aren't always as they seem. Mike always had the best entrance music, too. I remember him using Redman's Time 4 Sum Aksion.

Indiana Jones

The 4th installment of the Indiana Jones saga is here. The old flame Marion returns, but our buddies Short Round and Sallah are missed. The lines for this on Wednesday night and Thursday night were ridiculous. As much as I want to see it, camping out for a movie? I'll just slide in on an afternoon and watch it comfortably without dealing with the nonsense.

Marka27 presents: Mini-Gods: Givers of Divine Sound

I had to post this because a lot of the homies are trying to buy small speakers at the MAC store. If you're just looking for decent sound for casual listening, avoid ennui and pick a few of these up. They thump quite nicely and come with a mini-jack to plug nicely into the iPod, Zune, or computer. MG1 Brazil (above in 4 different editions) is the first one I saw late last year.



Marka27 has since released MG2 Mexico and MG Japan is next. The little speakers on the extensions of the head are not actually speakers, but they look too nice to nitpick that bit. Maybe later versions will go into that area.

Kraftwerk @ Coachella 2008

So I made it to Coachella, only for the Saturday festivities, and I didn't get there until 7 pm. The peak of the night started right as I got there. Kraftwerk should have gone on last. No disrespect to Prince but Purple Rain doesn't sound right when you've taken 4 different kinds of drugs. Kraftwerk was more in tune with where I was. I only regret that I didn't stay for their entire show because I was so curious to check out the entire venue. The night ended on somewhat of a musical low point with crappy epic trance douchebag duo Above & Beyond, sounding of outdated epic trance. Dudes were raising their hands in the air like Paul Oakenfold, like they were gods and deserved our praise. Fucking herbs.

Nic Bagger went on Saturday and Sunday. So he'll have more to post about Coachella later.

Goldmund Reference II Turntable

Saw a lot of talk about this. Muthafucka costs around $300,000 and supposedly only 25 of them will ever be made.
Somebody get a hold of this and invite me over to listen to some records.

IRON MAN

Iron Man is out a few hours early today @ 8:00 p.m. in my area. Being the comic book junkie I was as a kid, I'm geeked. No Ghost though, his scene was cut out but don't think it'll take too much from it overall. Glad it's Mr. Downey assuming the role as opposed to Tom Cruise voicing a lot of interest for the role when the idea was first brought up a while back.
