Sahtyre >>> High Saht
Los Angeles. Project Blowed. Abstract Rude. Aceyalone. Rifleman. Mikah 9. The list goes on and on. Well Project Blowed has molded a new generation, which has been making some noise.
One of these talented and young artists is Sahtyre, a member of Swim Team who has emerged battling in WRC and Grind Time. His debut album, High Saht, features the similar rhyme prowess and wit that has been wielded in battle. But the album ventures beyond comedic punch wordplay and clever rhymes.
For instance, "Always Say Never," where Sahtyre attempts to resolve a past love, a pensive, melancholy, ballad. Go get it and listen to it. Pick up the album at Fat Beats or Amoeba. Pick it up online through his myspace page.
Fav tracks: "Take 2 of These", "Always Say Never"

P.E. in Full Effect. Coachella 2009
Watching these guys tear it down like this - beautiful. Saw these guys perform a while back in Phoenix where they went on last and no one stuck around. Guess most people went to see Mya and Black Eyed Peas. We stayed till the end with about 20 other people in a stadium that packs probably 30 to 40,000. They played an impressive show back then even to an empty crowd. But this is what it's supposed to look like Phoenix. Phoenix is the SUCK.

Wolverine
Dig this, my beats kick you in the head like a Timbaland
Me and my crew stay tight like the X-men
I gets mean and then I turns into the Wolverine
Then I grab the mic and blow the spot to smithereens - Grand Puba
My foramen magnum got 357 calibers
to bust a suckaz melon like Gallagher
Body chemistry consists of Hennessey, toxic melanin
with an adamantium skeleton like Wolverine - Ras Kass
It sorta had the strange makings of a tale told in hell
Like "Oh well," hold tall riches
If the Feds is really after him they'll just tell all the snitches
On borrowed-time rhymes, gassed by the silver screen
They cat like their monkey ass can heal back like Wolverine - MF Doom
With a spiked ball and chain I'm Braveheart, Maximus
With an axe in his hand, slicing up these abstract Pakistans
Never stop, let you not be want again
Me and the Wolverine are the two of the hardest X-Men - Abstract Rude
Yo, I stick around like hockey, now what the puck
Cooler than fuck, maneuver like Vancouver Canucks
In ya speaker, destroy your woofer, mids and tweeters
Not Wolverine but still I hold Claws like Shameeka - Pharoahe Monch
Hip-hop and comics. Wu-Tang, Ghostface being Tony Starks. Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider (Method), MF Doom paralleling Dr. Doom, Big Pun as the Punisher (not so sure about this one).
X-MEN was some ridiculous shit to stumble on growing up.
So far no motion picture has been able to capture the same beauty as following the comic book growing up. It's nice that a movie is made, which sort of validates and gives it recognition.
But reading Spider Man when Todd McFarlane started illustrating, or reading The Dark Phoenix Saga, or Spawn, it is far beyond any of the movies created. Didn't read or follow Watchmen, which is supposedly some ill shit. Just hoping this movie does our favorite X-MEN justice.

Pure Filth saves Coachella from crapdom
Lineup for Coachella is crap this year, at least from our perspective.
But wait, wtf? Pure Filth is getting involved?
WTF, why didn't this happen last year?
Fuck, now a reason to go.
Coachella is definitely an eye opening experience.
Even with mostly bands I don't give a shit about and shitty trance dj's.
But fuck, add some shit like this and..
In the words of Kurt Warner,
THANK YOU JEEEESUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
